Fellowships awarded to Mark Ryan and Stuart Richards.

The 2018 AFIRC Research Fellowship has been awarded to Mark Ryan and Stuart Richards.

Mark Ryan’s project titled, Digging up the history of Australian horror cinema: delineating the interwoven strands of horror, transnational-horror, Ozploitation and Australian Gothic movies from the 1970s to now will provide a detailed account of the Australian horror genre’s history and the intersections and interrelations between horror,  Australian Gothic and Ozploitation films.

Stuart Richards’ project titled Queer Outwardly Australian Cinema, will examine the international nature of Australian queer screen content.
