Welcome to the AFI Research Collection

The AFI Research Collection is a specialist film and television industry resource open to the public. The Collection has materials encompassing cinema and television from the world over (with particular strengths in screen theory and history and in Australian cinema). The collection features a diverse range of newspaper clippings files, books, journals, film and television scripts, directories, reports, film promotional material, and film festival catalogues.

Filmfile

Filmfile is a news list produced weekly by the AFI Research Collection. The Filmfile newsletter spreads the word about notable events within the film/tv industries and academia.

Visit Us

AFIRC is located within the Swanston Library at the RMIT University City Campus.

To visit us, enter the Swanston Library via Building 8 and proceed to Level 5 or 6.

To access us via Level 5, turn right at the information desk, proceed towards the bookshelves and take the internal circular stairs to level 6.

Once on Level 6, proceed towards the bookshelves, then walk towards the yellow wall. You have now reached the AFIRC.
