The 2017 AFIRC Research Fellowship has been awarded to Alexandra Heller-Nicholas.
Her project, titled Hidden in Plain Sight: Australian Women’s Film Criticism, 1980 – 1999, will examine the intersection between women’s film criticism and women’s filmmaking practices in Australia during the 1980s and 1990s. Alexandra’s entry for the fellowship was judged winner from a very competitive field of applicants.
Alexandra receives the $5000 Fellowship award to enable her research at the AFI Research Collection.
